There is a huge potential EV truck market waiting to replace smoggy diesels. Especially in point-to-point transportation and shipping, where you can set up end station chargers at both ends.

Volvo Trucks is a different entity than Volvo Cars. Volvo Cars is owned by Geely, while Volvo Trucks is mostly Swedish.

Correct. Geely owns 100% of Volvo Cars, and about 8-10% of Volvo Trucks directly.

Saw the new Ford Capri at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday 11th July. It looks better in the flesh and the front and rear looks nothing like a Polestar 2 (yes the side prfile is very similar). Also saw the Tesla Cybertruck for the first time at Goodwood FOS. Shame Tesla didn't have a proper stand like last year. They only had 2 vehicles on display - the Model 3 performance refresh in red in the 'Electric Avenue' area and a hard to find Cybertruck in a different location. BYD had a big stand as did Polestar, and other Chinese brands. As a TSLA shareholder it was very disappointing not to see a proper Tesla stand like last year. The Renault 5 EV and Alpine A290 EVs were the star of the show for me. Great also to see Rimac and McMurtry plus loads of other EVs there.

Hydrogen could be pushed as Bait and Switch, like "Gee we really tried and put all this money and time into it, but shucks hydrogen just doesn't work so we have to go back to oil."

Enjoy that vacation while I sit here all retired and useless, wishing I were back in the game supplying commercial OEMs. Changes in the market ALWAYS brings new opportunities and there is so much room in the market today for suppliers who aren't timid about chasing new technologies.

Not sure why contractors have not been buying more electric pickups and vans. Awesome power and reliability, and plenty of range for almost every job.

Contractors tend to buy vehicles when they need them, not "just" when they become available.

😄Good day from GOONELLABAH, NSW! 🌏
I'll embark on a six-month journey to circumnavigate Australia in two CYBERTRUCKs and a Tesla Semi, covering 22,000 kilometres at the end of February 2025. - 🤗Cheers, Ian Cleland
